What sets Abestorm apart
Price. At verification the SN55S was $454.06 on sale (regular $648.66) and the SNS90 $745.62 on sale (regular $1,147.11) on abestorm.com. Those sale prices make the SN55S the cheapest ENERGY STAR-listed unit we cover and the SNS90 the cheapest 90-pint pump unit. Both use R32 refrigerant, and the SN55S is the lightest unit in our comparison at 41.7 lb with a published 50 dBA rating.
The SNS90's published specs (23.2 x 15.2 x 17.7 in., 70.5 lb, 58 dBA, 210 CFM, COP 2.69 L/kWh) are identical to the AlorAir Sentinel HDi90, and the two companies' regular prices are within a dollar of each other ($1,147.11 vs $1,147). We report the figures as published and do not speculate about shared manufacturing.
Filtration and warranty are where Abestorm gives ground. The SN55S lists a MERV-8 filter but the SNS90 spec table lists MERV-1, which is a coarse screen. Product pages state a 5-year limited warranty, while the SNS90 user manual specifies 1 year on parts and workmanship and 5 years on the compressor, condenser and evaporator. Amps are not published for either unit.
SN55S or SNS90?
The SN55S is a budget pick for a small sealed crawl space (1,300 sq ft claim) with a gravity drain; it includes a 6.5 ft drain hose and moves 130 CFM. The SNS90 (2,600 sq ft claim) is the one to buy when you need capacity and a pump on a budget; its pump lifts 14.7 ft and ships with a 19.6 ft drain line and an 18 ft power cord.
If a better filter or a longer full-coverage warranty matters more than the sale price, the AlorAir HDi90 publishes the same hardware specs with a 6-year limited warranty, and the Santa Fe Compact70 offers MERV-13 filtration in a smaller cabinet.
Warranty
Product pages state a 5-year limited warranty; the SNS90 user manual specifies 1 year on workmanship/materials and 5 years on compressor, condenser and evaporator.
