AlorAir Solutions Inc. is based in Chino, California and sells crawl space, basement and restoration dehumidifiers under the Sentinel and Storm lines. Its founding year (2012) comes from business-directory summaries rather than alorair.com. The Sentinel HD and HDi series is sold direct, on Amazon and through Sylvane, and is positioned on price against Santa Fe and AprilAire.

We cover five Sentinel models: the HD55S (55 pints AHAM, gravity drain), the HDi65S (55 pints, built-in pump) and the HDi90 (90 pints, built-in pump, with ductable and Wi-Fi variants), plus the larger HDi100 (100 pints) and HDi120 (120 pints), both with built-in pumps. The HD90 is the HDi90 without a pump. Note that the original HD55 was rated 53 pints AHAM; the current HD55S is a different generation and the two should not be mixed up when reading older reviews.

What sets AlorAir apart

Price and warranty. The HD55S was $648.66 and the HDi65S $755 at Sylvane in September 2026, and AlorAir backs its dehumidifiers with a 6-year limited warranty with the first 2 years full coverage, matching Santa Fe's term. Sylvane's own listing for the HDi65S says 5 years, so confirm which applies to your purchase channel.

The pump units are the other draw. The HDi65S publishes a 19.6 ft condensate lift, the highest of any pump unit we cover, and the HDi90 publishes 14.7 ft. The HD55S and HDi65S are in ENERGY STAR's certified list; the HDi90, HDi100 and HDi120 are not, whatever retailer listing titles say. The spec sheets list R32 refrigerant. The published COP is 2.4 L/kWh (HD55S, HDi65S), 2.69 L/kWh (HDi90) or 2.7 L/kWh (HDi100, HDi120).

The trade-offs are filtration and noise. AlorAir lists a MERV-1 filter on the HD55S and HDi65S (Sylvane lists MERV-8), and the HDi90 spec sheet lists a MERV-8 filter as optional rather than standard; only the HDi100 and HDi120 list a MERV-10. The HDi90 is rated under 58 dBA and the two larger units under 60 dBA.

Which Sentinel for a crawl space?

For a small sealed crawl space (the manufacturer coverage claim for the HD55S and HDi65S is 1,300 sq ft) with a gravity drain available, the HD55S is the cheapest route to a 6-year warranty. If condensate has to be lifted, the HDi65S adds a pump for about $106 more at Sylvane.

For anything larger, the HDi90 (2,600 sq ft claim, 210 CFM, under 58 dBA, 70.5 lb) is the model to buy. At $1,147 it undercuts the Santa Fe Oasis105 and the AprilAire E100 while including a pump, which is why it ranks third on our best-of list. Its 23.2 x 15.2 x 17.7 in. cabinet is larger than the 12 x 12 in. class, so check the access opening.
