The AlorAir Sentinel HD55S is the gravity-drain version of AlorAir's smallest Sentinel and the successor to the original HD55 (which was rated 53 pints AHAM). AlorAir rates the HD55S at 55 pints per day at AHAM conditions and 120 pints per day at saturation, with coverage of 1,300 sq ft. The cabinet is 19.2 x 12.2 x 13.3 in.

Published features include auto defrost, auto restart after a power loss, a bypass air humidity sensor, an included gravity drain hose, a COP of 2.4 L/kWh and an operating range of 33.8 to 104°F. It is in ENERGY STAR's certified dehumidifier list. AlorAir lists a MERV-1 filter, while Sylvane lists MERV-8. AlorAir's warranty is a 6-year limited warranty with the first 2 years full coverage.

The December 2025 spec sheet lists 44 lb, under 52 dBA, 4.1 A at 115 V, 130 CFM and R32 refrigerant; AlorAir's product page gives slightly different weight and noise figures (41.7 lb and under 50 dBA). Sylvane price at verification was $648.66 for the white version.

At under $650 with a 6-year warranty, the HD55S is a reasonable pick for a small, well-sealed crawl space under about 1,300 sq ft with a gravity drain available. For the same footprint with a built-in pump, step up to the HDi65S; for more than 1,300 sq ft look at the HDi90.
