What sets Seaira Global apart
The NXT85C packs 85 pints of AHAM capacity and a built-in pump into a 21.7 x 12 x 12 in. cabinet, the same cross-section as the Santa Fe Compact70 and close to the AprilAire E070. No other pump unit we cover fits that profile. The manufacturer lists 185 CFM, a MERV-10 inlet filter with optional HEPA and carbon filters, all-aluminum coils, R32 refrigerant, and a 36 to 102°F operating range. It is made in North Carolina.
Coverage is published as 15,000 cubic feet rather than square feet; the manufacturer gives no square-foot figure, so our tables show the cubic-foot rating as published. The NXT85C weighs 60 lb (the gravity-drain NXT85 is 56 lb). Its spec sheet lists a 5.7 A draw, a 15 ft pump lift and a 20 ft drain line.
The published 59 dBA is among the loudest ratings in our comparison, and the manufacturer's COP of 1.86 L/kWh at 65°F / 60% RH is the lowest efficiency figure in the group. It is not in ENERGY STAR's certified list.
Should you buy the NXT85C?
The NXT85C is worth a look when the access opening will only take a 12 x 12 in. unit and you need both 85 pints of capacity and a pump. Its 5-year warranty and MERV-10 filter are competitive. Against that, it is louder and less efficient on paper than the AlorAir HDi90 or Abestorm SNS90, and we could not verify a price from the manufacturer, Sylvane or Amazon, so check the current listing before comparing on cost.
If noise or running cost is the priority and the access door is not the constraint, the AprilAire E080 or AlorAir HDi90 on our best-of list are the better-documented choices.
