What sets AprilAire apart
Three of the four units, the E080, E100 and E130, are listed by AprilAire as ENERGY STAR Most Efficient 2025. The E100 spec sheet publishes an energy factor of 2.6 L/kWh at 80°F / 60% RH and the E130 reaches 2.9 L/kWh, the best figure of any unit we cover. The E070 is not in ENERGY STAR's certified list.
AprilAire publishes airflow at three static pressures, which is unusual and useful if you plan to duct the unit. The E100 holds 210 CFM at 0.4 in. w.c. (from 280 CFM at zero static) and the E130 holds 225 CFM (from 310). The E080 drops to 85 CFM at 0.4 in., so it is better used unducted or with a short run. Noise is also published: 45 dBA ducted for the E080, 50 for the E130, 53 for the E070 and 55 for the E100.
The E070 and E080 spec sheets we found were R32 and R410A revisions respectively; the E100 and E130 are R32. Amperage differs slightly between refrigerant revisions, and the values in our spec tables note which sheet they came from.
Which AprilAire for a crawl space?
The E080 is the pick for most sealed crawl spaces: 80 pints AHAM, a 4,400 sq ft coverage claim, the quietest published rating in the line, and $1,495 at Sylvane (Sep 2026). It shares a 14 x 15 x 26 in. cabinet with the E100.
Choose the E070 ($1,400) when the access opening is small; its 12.5 x 12.5 in. profile is the lowest in the line and it moves 200 CFM. Choose the E100 ($1,878) when you need to duct across a large crawl space or condition the crawl space plus part of the house. The E130 ($2,495.99) is a 98 lb whole-house unit that we leave unranked on the best-of list because its size makes it a poor fit for most crawl space access doors.
Whichever you choose, plan the drain first. Every E-series unit drains by gravity through a barbed fitting or threaded elbow, and an external condensate pump is a separate purchase.
Warranty
5-year warranty on E-series dehumidifiers per spec sheets; Sylvane markets it as a 5-year replacement warranty.
