AprilAire E130

130 pints/day · 7,200 sq ft · Gravity drain · $2,496 (sale) at Sylvane as of Oct 2026

The AprilAire E130 (formerly model 1870) is the largest unit in this comparison at 130 pints per day AHAM and 105 pints per day at 73°F, with a whole-house coverage claim of up to 7,200 sq ft. It is ENERGY STAR Most Efficient 2025 and has the best published energy factor of the AprilAire line at 2.9 L/kWh.

Airflow is 310 CFM at zero static (270 CFM at 0.2 in., 225 CFM at 0.4 in.), and despite the capacity the spec sheet lists 50 dBA ducted, quieter than the E100. The cost is size: the cabinet is 19.5 x 18.75 x 30 in. (Sylvane lists 18.5 in. high) and weighs 98 lb, which is a problem for many crawl space access doors and for anyone installing alone.

It draws 8.3 A at 120 V, uses R32 refrigerant, a washable MERV-8 filter and a threaded drain elbow with gravity drain; no pump is included. Warranty is 5 years. Sylvane listed the plug-in, non-Wi-Fi version at $2,495.99 at verification.

Our take

The E130 is overkill for a crawl space alone; it belongs in a large, leaky crawl space that also feeds conditioned air to the house, or in a combined crawl space and basement. We leave it unranked on the best-of list for that reason, but it is the right tool if the load calculation calls for 100+ pints at cool temperatures.
