The Santa Fe Compact70 (part 4044110, formerly sold as the Compact2) is the smallest unit in this comparison at 12 x 12 x 21 inches and 55 lb, which is the reason it turns up in so many crawl space installs: it fits through a standard access door and sits flat on a vapor barrier without ducting. Santa Fe rates it at 70 pints per day under the AHAM 80°F / 60% RH test and publishes the harder 65°F DOE figure too, 43.7 pints per day, which is closer to what a cool crawl space will actually see.

Coverage is quoted as up to 2,600 sq ft for a tightly sealed crawl space and 1,800 sq ft for a loosely sealed one; Sylvane lists a middle figure of 2,200 sq ft. Our take

The Compact70 is the unit to beat for a typical sealed crawl space under 2,000 sq ft where you want the best filtration, the longest warranty and the smallest footprint. The 150 CFM airflow and lack of a pump are the trade-offs; if you need to lift condensate, price in the pump kit or look at the AlorAir Sentinel HDi90.
